Westport House Hosts Seamus Heaney Exhibition

Previously showcased in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs in Europe and the USA, this captivating display explores the revered Irish poet Seamus Heaney’s life and literary contributions.

The Exhibition Experience
Running from February 1st to February 18th, the “Listen Now Again” exhibition finds its home in the enchanting Long Gallery on the ground floor of Westport House.
Open to the public Wednesday to Sunday, from 12 noon to 4 pm, this remarkable showcase features will feature a collection of visually stunning pull-up banners that vividly bring Heaney’s literary legacy to life.
Admission Details
Complimentary tickets for this literary celebration are available for walk-in visitors at the front door of Westport House. No advance booking is required. Visitors are also invited to explore the main floor of Westport House which will also be open at no additional cost.

Given the exhibition’s coincidental timing with the midterm break and Seamus Heaney’s inclusion in the Leaving Cert 2024 curriculum, local schools are expected to find this event particularly appealing.

The official launch event is scheduled to take place on February 1st, from 5 pm to 6 pm at Westport House, with the esteemed Director of the National Library of Ireland, Audrey Whitty, in attendance. The launch is an open event, and everyone is welcome to join.
