The #Westport250 Parade took place yesterday in Westport to massive crowds. The parade was originally planned to be a Westport250-themed St Patrick’s Day Parade but unfortunately, due to horrendous weather on St Patrick’s day, it had to be rescheduled.
Well, the sun shone on us all on Sunday with massive crowds from all over the county in attendance. Every float and participating group went above and beyond to make their participation a success.
We were delighted to be a part of it. With thanks to Jason and Ella from our Birds of Prey Centre for joining us, our train driver John who can drive, wave and ring the bell all at once (no mean feat, let me tell you!), Toby our Pirate (Grace O’Malley’s son, Toby na Long), the ever-popular Pinkie Rabbit and her helper (and lollipop giver-outer) Carmel. Special thanks to the members of the Irish Mini Car Owners Club who brought a bunch of Minis with them to celebrate the upcoming International Mini Meet taking place at Westport House from May 25th to 28th…over 2,000 Mini car enthusiasts will be welcomed to the estate to celebrate their passion. And the public is invited to visit on Sunday’s Show Day.
Well done to the Parade Committee on a fantastic job – and here’s to #Westport250!
