Public Information Notice for Hooley – Only 4 Sleeps To Go!
It’s hard to believe that the 2nd annual Hooley at the House is almost upon us…with only 4 sleeps to go, we are getting ready to welcome you as the site build has started. It’s the biggest outdoor event of the summer in the West and the whole estate will be buzzing with music, dance, fun and laughter for a ‘hooley’ like no other!
The beautiful Big Red Barn is being mapped out on the gorgeously groomed front lawn as I type. Barriers are being delivered, portaloos and bins are scheduled and the Westport House maintenance team is busy getting all of the grounds ready, putting signage in place, making sure car parks are tip top and a whole lot more!
For the children all the entertainment facilities at Westport House will be FREE OF CHARGE for the entire day including Ireland’s ONLY log flume splash ride, the Swan Pedal boats and dozens of other amazing activities at the Pirate Adventure Park. Don’t forget – kids go free!
If you’d like to try out archery, archery tag, high ropes, laser combat games, zorbing or zipwiring, you can pay an additional charge to get your adrenaline pumping!
Gates will open at 12 noon on the day with 6 hours of free entertainment. The live music on the big stage commences at 2 pm sharp and artists on the day will include:

Public Information Notice for your Safety & Enjoyment
The Hooley at the House – 12:00pm to 6:00pm, Sunday, June 12th
GENERAL INFORMATION
Gates open 12:00pm and music starts 2:00pm. You may leave the venue after entry but please ensure that you have your event stamp for re-entry. Up to two children under 13 are allowed for free with a parent/guardian ticket holder. There is a teen ticket available for teenagers 13-17 years old (€15) but they must be accompanied by an adult. There are no ATMs on site but there are bank machines close by in Westport Town. Full bar and food facilities are available on site (everyone under 21 years will require photo ID).
The stage and concert will take place in front of Westport House on the front lawn. The Pirate Adventure Park & Westport House itself will be open for use by all attendees. There will be a dancefloor in front of the stage.
GETTING IN/ACCESS
Access to the ticketed concert area will be via two entrances:
- Town Centre Gates to Westport House at Church Lane (Pedestrian ONLY)
- Checkpoint / Golf Course Road Entrance
TICKETS – BUY IN ADVANCE AND AVOID QUEUES
Concert go-ers are encouraged to get tickets in advance to avoid queues on the day.
Tickets for this event are now on sale at €30 for adults – including all booking fees – with under-12’s going free of charge. Student tickets will be on sale at the gate on the day for just €15.00 (ID required). Tickets can be purchased on line right now at www.midwestradio.ie OR by credit card on 094 9630169 (8am to 8pm).

Tickets will be on sale on the day at the Ticketing Office at the Town Centre Gate to Westport House and the Ticketing Office in the farmyard at Westport House. Both cash and card payment facilities will be available but note that there are no ATMs on site (nearby in Westport town).
TRANSPORT
Westport is a very busy town and traffic is heavy on a quiet day so please use car parks provided and where possible use public transport. Please plan for delays and allow yourself plenty of travel time. Plan your route in advance and check the AA roadwatch website for reports on traffic, road works and delays. Please follow all Gardai instruction, stewarding and event signage in the town centre.
PARKING
Look for “Hooley” signage directing you to car parks entrance on Westport House estate where onsite car parking is free. Car parks are situated off the Golf Course road which is off the N59 (Newport-Westport road).
Please note that parking in Westport Town outside of the Hooley car parks is also FREE on Sunday. The Pay & Display parking charges do not apply nor does the 1 hour rule on streets.
BUS SERVICES – Advanced Booking Essential On 087 233 00 97!
BALLINA/FOXORD/BALLYVARRY service will operate as follows:
- Ballina – leaving from the bus stop at Dunnes Stores at 11.00 am
- Foxford bus stop – 11.20 am
- Ballyvary (bus stop) at 11.30am and on to Westport (Drop off at the Octagon)
CASTLEBAR SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE
A shuttle bus service will operate every 30 minutes from 11am from outside the church on Chapel St in Castlebar throughout the afternoon to bring people to Westport (Drop Off will be at the Octagon).
SPECIAL NEEDS
Special needs parking is available 200m from the concert stage. Please enter via the Golf Course Road Entrance. There will be a designated area for wheelchair users in front of the stage. Carers for concert goers with special needs will go free.
PETS
While we love animals, we are sorry that NO PETS are permitted to the Hooley at the House (except for assistance dogs).
YOUR SAFETY
This is an outdoor event and will take place rain or shine. Please remember to plan for adverse weather conditions. Always check the weather before setting off. Please have your ticket ready for inspection at entrance points. No alcohol, glass or cans permitted. Umbrellas, small garden furniture and seats are permitted (and encouraged). Please obey the stewards and gardai and any safety instructions given over the public address system.
FOOD & DRINK
With full bar facilities all day in the amazing Big Red Barn and delicious food stalls galore, you won’t go hungry or thirsty. Picnics are allowed but you are not allowed to bring alcohol into the venue.
