Annual Easter Egg Treasure Hunt taking place Easter Sunday, March 31st
Westport, Co. Mayo, Ireland (Monday, 4 February 2013) – Westport House & Pirate Adventure Park in Co. Mayo is springing into action this year with a whole host of fun events for all the family commencing with their annual Easter weekend egg-stravaganza on Easter Sunday, March 31st. Pinkie, the Easter Bunny – one of Westport House’s dearest friends – has cleared time from her very busy schedule to welcome all the boys and girls who visit Westport House and is said to be tail-twitchingly thrilled to lead the this year’s Easter egg Treasure hunt.
The hunt will take place on Easter Sunday through the stunning and freshly blooming parkland grounds with waterfalls, lakes, rolling lawns and scenic backdrop of the Westport House Estate. And the first 400 kids to complete the hunt will get a complimentary Easter egg as their treasure! Each family that finishes will also be entered to win some great prizes, awarded at 5.30pm on the day.
For that little bit eggs-tra why not continue the fun at Westport House’s Pirate Adventure Park, which is suitable for kids under 12. The selection of outdoor amusements in the Park is sure to put a spring in your little bunnies’ step, as they hop from the Cannonball Run slide to the Pirates Swinging Ship and Pirate Plunge log flume ride. There will also be plenty of fun adventure activities for all ages from zorbing to zip wire, archery and combat games. And of course the historic Westport House itself is most definitely worth a visit. This beautiful 18th Century House, built of the ruins of a castle owned by the Pirate Queen Grace O’ Malley is nestled at the heart of award-winning Westport town, which in 2012 was crowned The Best Place to Live in Ireland, Ireland’s Tidiest Large Town 2012, Ireland’s Best Kept Large Town 2012 and the Retail Excellence Best Town in Ireland.
With a ‘cracking’ Easter offering like this it comes as no surprise that Westport House itself was recently voted one of the Best Family Visitor Attractions in Ireland. Pre-booking for treasure hunts will not be required. Regular admission charges to Westport House and Pirate Adventure Park apply and there is no additional charge for the Easter Egg Hunts.
And if you’re looking for an ‘egg-cellent’ Easter family holiday that you will treasure for years to come, Westport House is offering a great value Stay & Play Easter package: You and your family can stay for 3 nights in their 3 star caravan and camping park on the Westport House estate with unlimited use of Westport House and the Pirate Adventure Park for only €195 (for a family of 4).
